Looking for Grand Cayman Resorts? You’ll find one here that more than meets your needs.

Grand Cayman Resorts come in many shapes and sizes but, thanks to Hurricane Ivan a few years back, they’re all re-modeled into modern luxury accommodations. All you need to do is choose the one that suits you.

One thing resorts tend to do that hotels, villas and B&Bs; can’t is attract shops and other services, like banks to the neighborhood.

Something to remember about the Cayman Islands is they are tax-free for residents but one of the ways their Government raises cash is a tax on rooms of US$10 per night.

That said, here are the Grand Cayman Resorts in as near alphabetical order as I can manage:

Cobalt Coast is on the North Shore and off the beaten track at Boatswain’s Bay. ‘Off-the-beaten-track’ means about 10 minutes drive from George Town, and even less to the Seven Mile Beach area, so it’s close to the action if you want a change of pace. If you don’t, it has an on-site dive center , Divetech, to keep you fully occupied. Book your stay here at Cobalt Coast. Comfort Suites on Seven Mile Beach has studios and 1 or 2 bedroom suites that include kitchen facilities. They advertise themselves as a budget resort, and they do various packages, still they don’t go cheap on things that matter. The resort has a dive shop, a pool (with poolside bar and restaurant) and jacuzzi for those who, like me, prefer their water risk-free. There’s also a discount for guests at the nearby Britannia Golf Course. Check them out at: www.caymancomfort.com

Compass Point Dive Resort is in the East End of the island, just past the village of East End to be precise and about 20 miles from the airport. Compass Point is a dive resort of 27 condominiums. Call them at: 1-345-947-0000 or, 1 (800) 348 6096 (toll free from North America), Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm. O visit their website at : http://www.compasspoint.ky

Courtyard Marriott is also right on Seven Mile Beach, has two dining rooms, 2 bars and a fitness centre to work of any overindulgence the bars and meals are likely to encourage. It’s near the Safehaven golf course course (though Britannia isn’t that much further) and Governor’s Harbour for boating, diving enthusiasts. Visit their website at: www.marriott.com/gcmcy

Hyatt-Regency Hotel and Resort is on Seven Mile Beach and is one of the most luxurious Grand Cayman resorts on the island. It’s also a big resort with all that entails for amenities and services.

Lacovia Condos Beach Resort on Seven Mile Beach is near the Hyatt-Regency and not far from Britannia Golf. Lacovia has a private part of Seven Mile Beach, daily maid service and is handily placed for all that’s happening in the West End. Call them at: (345) 949-7599 or Fax: (345) 949-0172 or e-mail: lacovia@candw.ky

Marriott Beach resort, like the more affordable Courtyard Marriott, is on 7 Mile Beach and was recently named ‘Grand Cayman’s Leading Hotel’ by World Travel Awards. They have an on-site spa and salon for that decadent luxury vacation treat. This is a big resort with 4 different dining rooms. Visit them at: www.marriott.com

Most Grand Cayman resorts are centered around 7 Mile Beach but Morritts Tortuga and Grand are located in the quieter East End ‘off-the-beaten-track’, about 30 minutes from George Town, but they do provide nightly entertainment and have a Red Sails Sports center right on their beach, which makes them pretty self-contained.

If you book accommodation in the East End or Rum Point, you may, at some point during your stay, want to consider renting a car.

Morritts resort, Grand Cayman We stayed at Morritts and thought it was great. There are three pools, one of which is right on the beach so you can drink at the bar and imagine you’re in the ocean (this may seem odd behavior but at least you know what’s in the water!). The other two pools seem to settle out as one for the families and one, the Park pool, for the adults. The Park pool is also where they do dive training, water aerobics and any other water based experience.

Book your vacation by clicking on the photo above or learn more at our Morritts Resort page.

Reef Resort is right next to Morritts on Collier’s Bay and beach. It’s the home of the ‘Barefoot man’ and Castro’s Hideaway nightclub-restaurant.

Ritz-Carlton Resort is one of the largest on Seven-Mile Beach.

Silver Sands resort, again on Seven Mile Beach, this time at the quieter northern end of the beach.

Spanish Bay Reef Resort is an all-inclusive resort in West Bay along the coast from Boatswain’s Bay and very near the Barkers National Park. The beaches are mainly ironshore which is great for divers and snorkelers. Sunshine Suites Resort is another Grand Cayman resort on Seven Mile Beach (the beach is the center of the Grand Cayman universe)…

Villas of the Galleon condos are also on Seven Mile Beach and close to the restaurants, nghtlife, golf courses, and the other activities the beach has to offer. You can view the resort online at: www.communitywebshots.com/user/villas1 or call them at: 345.945.4433

If villas are what you’re looking for, go to our Villas page.

Westin Casuarina Resort occupies 8 acres of Seven Mile Beach and has the water sports that go with that. Like the Marriott, this is a big luxurious resort with fine dining (one of their restaurants, Casa Havana, is the only AAA four diamond restaurant on Grand Cayman), a spa, golf, and a private beach and pools. Call them at: 345.945.3800 for details.

There are so many Grand Cayman resorts, you may want to consider some help in planning your trip. Here’s a site that does that. Welcome to 5-StarHotels.org, a one stop shop for all your travel needs. Whether you are in search of a cheap flight ticket to Orlando, or want a budget cabins in Las Vegas, car rental for the weekend or a cruise to Hawaii, you need not look any further!

You might want to visit our everyday shopping page because whichever of the Grand Cayman resorts you’ve chosen, picking up a few items on the way from the airport can help your stay go smoothly.

Alternatively, a review of our Hotels or bed & breakfasts pages may provide additional food for thought.

Grand Cayman Resorts are large and small, rockin’ for the young and or mellow for the not-so-young, and one of them will suit your tastes. Here’s a search box that will let you browse and book your stay…
